Ker Dreger – Ecomusée des révolutions agricoles

Ker Dreger, housed in an old farmhouse in Plouigneau, is an eco-museum dedicated to the life of our great-great-great-grandparents in the Trégorroise countryside, from the 1860s to the 1970s. And it's much more than just a museum: it's a real Breton village covering 8,000 m2 that revolves around the dwelling house, surrounded by livestock buildings, the gallery of agricultural machinery, the trades street and the trail on the agricultural revolutions, due to open in 2023. You'll particularly appreciate the collection of old tractors and bicycles, with some exceptional and very old items such as the 1916 McCormick from the USA, or the Derny tandem engine from the 1930s. In the house, discover three stages in the evolution of housing, from 1900 to 1970. The gradual arrival of modernity will take us all the way to the living room of the 1970s, where you might find some familiar objects... Children will of course want to linger in the games room, where a dozen wooden Breton games, table football (invented in 1885) and pedal tractors await them. They can climb on one of the machines on display in the hangar and don the donkey's hat in the classroom. The ecomuseum is a superb bridge between the childhood memories of grandparents and the daily lives of grandchildren! The richness and uniqueness of the eco-museum also lies in the exchanges with the team of volunteers and mediators, who will be happy to explain to you how cauliflowers and artichokes are grown, to tell you about the tricks and ingenuity of the elders, as well as anecdotes from everyday life... Closed beds, billigs or churns, these objects will no longer hold any secrets for you! Ker Dreger is a living museum, with a wide range of events on offer throughout the year.
