‘La Maison-Musée du Pouldu’ is a museum following in the footsteps of the artist Gauguin, a reconstruction of the old-fashioned ‘Buvette de la Plage’ where Paul Gauguin and his painter friends stayed from 1889 onwards. Atmospheric sounds, lights and scenery bring back to life the former Inn where Gauguin developed the concept of Synthetism. You can also experience this visit using a tablet. During French school holidays, the museum organises family activities several times a week and, in summer, there are guided visits every day. Leaving from ‘La Maison-Musée du Pouldu’, you can also follow the Painters’ Trail, which include 15 points where you can find out more about the artists’ inspiration when they came to paint Le Pouldu.
