Fonds Hélène & Édouard Leclerc pour la Culture

Housed in the former Capuchin convent in Landerneau, the Hélène & Édouard Leclerc Cultural Trust (FHEL) has welcomed over 2 million visitors since it opened in 2012.

Ranked amongst the leading cultural institutions in western France, it is a must-see for art lovers, as well as for an ever-growing and increasingly diverse audience of all ages and backgrounds.

Established in autumn 2011, the FHEL is an endowment fund managed by a board of directors and chaired by Michel-Édouard Leclerc. Set up on the initiative of several members of the Leclerc family – current and former members of the Mouvement E. Leclerc – joined by others, this fund is entirely financed through private patronage.

By organising large-scale exhibitions, the FHEL aims to make contemporary art accessible to a wide audience.

Retrospective:
The FHEL has notably hosted exhibitions of works by Joan Miró in 2013, Alberto Giacometti in 2015, Marc Chagall in 2016, Pablo Picasso in 2017, as well as Enki Bilal in 2021, Ernest Pignon-Ernest in 2022, John Howe, illustrator of Tolkien’s works, the photographic works of Henri Cartier-Bresson and, more recently, Warhol!
