Lighthouse
Close to the centre, this lighthouse bears direct witness to the exploitation of seaweed. This was a widespread activity all along the coast between 1780 and 1950. The seaweed was burnt in "goémon ovens", rectangular trenches dug into the ground and built all along the coastline. As night-time burning was forbidden, as soon as the lighthouse was extinguished in the morning, work could begin until it was relit in the evening.
