Set off on an adventure in Morlaix and explore the Science Centre, nestled in the heart of the former tobacco factory. Embark on a fascinating journey through the site’s industrial history and the world of science.

A place steeped in history
The Morlaix tobacco factory was designed in the 18th century by the King’s architect, Jean-François Blondel. Here you can admire the restored machinery, a testament to three centuries of ingenuity and human endeavour. Don’t miss the tobacco-grinding mill room, now listed as a Historic Monument, which was used for the production of snuff. Through interactive exhibitions and an immersive display, the stories of the men, women and children who worked within these walls are brought to life.

Exhibitions for all curious minds
As you wander through the eight exhibition rooms, thanks to a layout designed to pique your curiosity, you’ll experience the joy of scientific discovery in all its richness and diversity, through observations, experiments, fun activities and multimedia displays…In particular, you’ll be able to marvel at Foucault’s pendulum, the huge interactive globe, and the geological history of the Armorican Massif.

A journey to the stars
In the attic of the Manufacture, the Jardin des Planètes invites you on a celestial stroll. Guided by the soothing voice of Hubert Reeves, you can explore the wonders of the Solar System and the constellations.

The children’s workshop
The workshop is specially designed for children aged 6 and over, offering a space for discovery and learning for the whole family. Ten interactive modules will spark your curiosity with experiments on the mechanics of motion, the physics of materials, electricity and light.

Temporary exhibition: ‘High Speed’
Embark on a journey into the heart of high-speed rail!
Do you know how high-speed rail has transformed transport and pushed the boundaries of engineering? From the first TGV to world records, explore the technical challenges that enable these trains to travel at over 320 km/h. Scale models, interactive games, a driving simulator… This exhibition highlights the technical challenges overcome to achieve such performance!

School term: open Tuesday to Sunday from 2 pm to 6 pm (closed on some Sundays depending on the season).

School holidays (Zone B): open Tuesday to Friday from 10.00 to 18.00, Saturday and Sunday from 14.00 to 18.00.

Summer holidays: open Tuesday to Sunday from 10.00 to 18.00 – Open on public holidays.

Closed on Mondays and public holidays.
Annual closure from 5 January to 9 February 2026.
Ticket office closes at 5.00 pm.
Exceptional closure on Sunday 6 September from 2.00 pm to 6.00 pm.
