Located in the former tobacco factory in Morlaix, which has been converted into a cultural centre, this venue has been designed to host temporary exhibitions and promote artistic creation in a variety of forms. It is currently being used to keep the works of the Musée des Jacobins in Morlaix visible while work is being carried out on the site in the town centre. Housed in a vast, flexible and modern space, the Espace des arts offers a cross-disciplinary approach to the museum's collections, covering the fine arts, history, ethnography and archaeology, accessible to a wide range of visitors. Close to the recently opened Science Centre in the same building, it will help to make La Manu a truly vibrant cultural district in the heart of Morlaix. This collection faithfully reflects the history of the museum since it opened in 1887. In six chapters, this exhibition invites you to rediscover the major works, archaeological objects, popular arts and traditions, which are all on display at the museum. and popular traditions, which look at each other, come together and interact to better reveal themselves. As a museum of art and history, its collections bear witness to a sometimes unusual mix, where folk sculpture with a portrait of a woman by Gustave Courbet, an Egyptian sarcophagus, works by Australian impressionist the collection of wedding spoons, and a nude by Pierre Bonnard. Discover these treasures in the Espace des arts, the new exhibition space at the Musée des Jacobins in Morlaix in the heart of the Tobacco Factory! The Espace des Arts is located on the ground floor of the Manufacture des Tabacs. The entrance is on the right as you enter the main courtyard. Tuesday to Saturday, 10am-12.30pm and 1.30pm-5.30pm.
