The museum, housed in the Pontaniou washhouse in the legendary Recouvrance district, takes you back in time to the Brest of yesteryear, with a variety of exhibition areas recounting the life of the people of Brest. LE LAVOIR, Brest's heritage museum, is run by volunteers from the La Carrée association. Winner of the City of Brest 2020 participatory budget.
LE LAVOIR invites you to immerse yourself in old Brest through its exhibitions (Daily life, artists' gallery, exhibitions, etc.). This collection will be gradually enriched by the purchase, loan or donation of items of all kinds relating to the history of Brest.
