In the summer of 1995, a utopia called Astropolis was born in Nord-Finistère. A handful of dreamy enthusiasts came up with the idea of a 'City of Stars' to defend electronic music and lay the foundations for a bubble of freedom, at a time when raves were embodying a veritable social revolution, albeit one that was severely repressed. Astropolis laid the foundations for an adventure that was destined to last: that of radical freedom, of Do It Yourself and of a culture that was invented on the margins, without a safety net but with a contagious fury for living and sharing. It's an adventure made up of stories told on the dancefloors, encounters between dancers from all walks of life, and unique nights in exceptional heritage venues, where the magic of the ephemeral blends with collective energy.
Thirty years on, under the benevolent light of several of its stars, Astropolis continues to defend electronic music through the values that have driven it since its beginnings: cultivating independence, working as a collective and resisting. From ephemeral rave to urban festival, France's oldest electronic festival remains true to its avant-garde, hedonistic and festive spirit.
The festival is back for another collective, precious and essential adventure, marked by this symbolic anniversary. It's a chance to return to its legendary setting: the Manoir de Keroual, the scene of a legendary night under the stars in the heart of the forest. For four days, the whole city will be vibrating to the rhythm of an exciting electronic scene: from clubs in fusion to galvanising open airs, Brest will be celebrating the unity and diversity of electronic culture.
