These poems, often recited without music, tell of love, the body, deception, perfidy, resilience... in a word, life... from the game of the boûqâlâh, containing anonymous gems from the Algerian female oral tradition, to the lyric poetry of the Italian East or the south of France, via Sephardic songs or the romancero viejo of medieval Spain and the Reconquista.
