Festival Lyrik – Quatuor vocal

New for Lyrik 2026, this vocal quartet offers an a cappella programme of great expressive intensity.

After listening to the famous Chaconne from Partita No. 2 on violin, the quartet performs Dmitri Shostakovich (Ophelia's Song) and John Cage (Story). The programme then explores the richness of the sacred and secular vocal repertoire: Dido's 'Remember me' from Henry Purcell's Dido and Aeneas, the choral meditations of Francis Poulenc (Salve Regina, O Magnum Mysterium), and the mystical fervour of John Tavener (The Lamb).
The journey continues with rarer aesthetics, between tradition and modernity, with Lajos Bárdos (Libera me), Nordic and contemporary songs, and revisited spirituals such as Bring Me Little Water and Silvy.
