Les Folies Estivales – Meylo – Pop N’Folk

From international pop to traditional African music and soul, Meylo's influences are as numerous as they are varied. A reminder of her parents, whom she used to accompany when they sang in their Togolese choir, where tom-toms rang out. It's a world that, over time, has been nourished by other influences: French chanson, film music, but also hip-hop, which taught her the art of phrasing and placement. This culture is the raw material of this self-taught artist, who has had to shape herself alone, accompanied by her guitar, which now enables her to compose and write her own songs.
