The shore of a land of exile. Marthe, a young woman with a passion for justice, love and truth, has crossed the ocean to follow Louis Laine, her husband, who craves freedom and adventure. They have found temporary refuge in the garden shed of Thomas Pollock Nageoire—a man of money, who commodifies everything—and his wife, the actress Lechy Elbernon. It is morning. Soon, the sun will crush their bodies with its madness, before the night bears witness to a harrowing exchange between the couples.
