“For over twenty-five years, Laïta BOULARD, a resident of the Monts d’Arrée, has been tirelessly exploring various printmaking techniques (intaglio, linocut, woodcut, monotype, sugar aquatint and collagraph). Her prints celebrate nature. She loves to explore the forests of Brittany, tree by tree, unearthing unusual shapes in the folds of bark, tracking down on the cracked trunk of an old tree fantastic animals, strange or menacing beasts – those curious chimeras that seem to have been plucked from ancient legends. She also attaches great importance to the gestural aspect as it is expressed in the art of Asian calligraphy.”
