Born in Lagos, Nigeria, the artist recalls his childhood as a soundtrack that oscillated between the traditional choirs his father listened to and his sisters’ records – Michael Jackson, Teddy Pendergrass, Sly Stone… It was there that he discovered the guitar, began writing his own songs and made his first appearances in clubs and then on the streets, where he forged his unique style.

At the crossroads of blues, funk and African rhythms, he went on to invent ‘blufunk’, a musical signature that has become his trademark. A boundless, multidisciplinary artist, untouched by the passage of time… We’ll never stop discovering the unassuming and inspiring Olufemi Sanyaolu, a.k.a. Mister Jones.

Ten years after his last album, he returned in 2025 with *Alive & Kicking*, his latest iconic album, which he will be presenting during his visit to Brest.
