Le Théâtre de Morlaix
Located between rue de Brest and rue Gambetta, the current theatre was built in the heart of the town centre, on the site of the Sub-Prefecture, thanks to Count Paul Ange de Guernisac, who bequeathed part of his fortune to the town to build a theatre worthy of the name. Work began in 1887 and was efficiently completed twelve months later, in accordance with the terms of the contract. The 600-seat theatre was inaugurated on 14 April 1888 by the Comédie Française. Today, the theatre is the beating heart of the city, hosting a wide range of shows every year, including dance, concerts, theatre and artist residencies. A jewel to be discovered under the stage lights!
