37ème FESTIVAL DU LIVRE EN BRETAGNE
Festival, Forum / Gathering / Book signing, Trade fair or exhibition
A must-attend event for book lovers, the Carhaix Book Festival is a unique event in Brittany. Over the course of a weekend, it brings together the vast majority of the region’s publishing houses (around a hundred), whether they publish in French or Breton. Nearly 300 authors, from the best-known to the lesser-known, are present at the various stands. Every year, publishers time the release of their major titles to coincide with the festival, making Carhaix the hub of the literary season in Brittany. In 2025, it welcomed 10,000 visitors.
Having opened its doors and windows to Scotland, Catalonia, Corsica and Kabylie in recent years, this year’s festival will focus on sport and will be chaired by the journalist and writer Georges Cadiou.
As every year, the festival will feature debates, round-table discussions, exhibitions, films… and always enlightening meetings with publishers, as well as unforgettable moments centred on books and reading. A play area for children is available for parents. Food and drink are available on site. In short, two non-stop days immersed in the world of books published in Brittany. For many, it will be a revelation and a surprise to discover the diversity and literary richness of our region.
