AADI ” Salon de Musique”
Show, Traditional music
After the unforgettable performances in 2023 and 2024, we are delighted to welcome back some of our favourite Indian artists, whose reputation is international, this time with Debasmita Bhathacharya, a rare woman and talented sarod player.
Rishab PRASANNA , Rishab Prasanna played a young Indian cook who miraculously saves a wedding party from disaster by improvising a dazzling solo on his bansuri flute in the 2017 film 'The Meaning of a Party'. He was introduced to the bansuri flute at the age of 5, in the traditional Indian way, where music is not written down, but each raga is learned by ear. Born into a Hindu family from Benares who have been musicians for six generations, he is the grandson of Raghunath Prasanna, who was given the title of "Prasanna" by the maraharajah of Kuch Bihar in Bengal. His father, Pandit Rajendra, continues to teach and perform the classical music of North India in prestigious venues around the world.
Debasmita Bhathacharya is a talented sarod virtuoso whose music transcends borders. Born into a family of musicians, she trained with the legendary Padma Bhushan Pandit Buddhadev Dasgupta. She has performed in prestigious venues around the world - from the World Expo 2020 in Dubai with the World Strings Ensemble, to the Queen Elizabeth Hall in the UK with the Aurora Orchestra and Manu Delago, as well as throughout the Middle East, China, the USA and Europe. Known for her ability to blend Indian classical traditions with cross-cultural collaborations, Debasmita's moving performances continue to captivate and inspire audiences around the world.
Tabla player Tristan AUVRAY is a regular and valued partner of AADI.
Born into a family of musicians, he trained as a percussionist with the Calcutta tabla master Pandit Shankar Ghosh. For several years now, he has been a favourite accompanist for many Indian musicians on tour in France.
Mosin KAWA began studying the tabla at the age of 3, and is the bearer of an oral musical tradition that has been passed down for 7 generations in his family, originally from Rajasthan. Since the age of 15, he has performed in India and throughout Europe. While continuing to accompany Indian music masters, he has enriched his playing by collaborating with other jazz and contemporary music musicians such as David Murray, André Manoukian , Vincent Segal, Loy Ehrlich, ...
