Amazigh In Situ

As part of the Cap Danse Festival.

This new production draws inspiration from research into a traditional dance known as Ahidous, found
in Central Morocco (the Middle Atlas). This performance brings the performers together in a collective energy driven by rhythm,
voice and movement. On stage, the dancers’ bodies trace repetitive, geometric patterns whilst they sing, shout and play the bendir, creating the music that drives them forward. With this
reimagined dance, Filipe Lourenço opens up the dance-based imaginations of the Maghreb to a collective landscape, embracing a
resolutely inclusive approach.
