De sémaphore en phare – Sur les traces du Dragon de Pontusval
Children, Gastronomie, Nature trips, Round trip / Tour, Workshops
What if the Dragon de Pontusval had never disappeared?
Legend has it that two knights saved the region from a terrible dragon. However, another story is still circulating on the Côte des Légendes...
During their journey, the knights are said to have become his friends. After all, maybe eating the locals wasn't such a good idea: too many bones stuck between the teeth, difficult digestion and a disastrous reputation! They would have taught him to live differently, by feeding on the botanical treasures of the coastline. Bota... what? Botanical! In other words, plants. So the dragon became a vege-ta-nothing. Heresy at the time, but now it's almost fashionable!
Since then, the dragon has apparently been sleeping somewhere between the rocks of Pontusval. Invisible to most visitors... but not to those who know how to observe.
Armed with a magnifying glass and the soul of an explorer, young and old alike can set off along the GR34 in search of clues left behind by this mysterious creature.
Along the way, participants will discover the dragon's favourite plants and the surprising adaptations of coastal flora to the wind, sand, salt and sea spray. They learn to read the landscape, recognise the plant treasures that populate the dunes and beach tops, and understand how this little world withstands the elements.
The children become real explorers: observing plants with a magnifying glass, hunting for treasures in the seashore, creating a nomadic herbarium - the dragon's plate -, making a mysterious sea whistle and carrying out little missions inspired by the dragon's world.
Every step of the way, nature reveals its secrets: the curiosities of seaweed, maritime heritage, artistic creations and legends of the Côte des Légendes are revealed along the way. The route also becomes a journey through time, punctuated by encounters with the Sémaphore de Brignogan, the Maison des Câbles, the Œil de Pierre Chanteau, the Œuf du Dragon and the famous Pontusval lighthouse.
The adventure ends opposite the lighthouse, where the dragon is said to have found its hiding place. Together, the explorers will try to lull it from its eternal sleep using a strange whistle made from a coastal treasure. Will he wake up or continue to have sweet dreams? It's a mystery...
Dragon's menu: to round off this quest, nomadic cuisine and a convivial aperitif based on wild plants and the iodised flavours of the coast.
The walk ends at the Pontusval lighthouse, one of Brignogan's most beautiful beaches. Those who wish can extend the adventure with a swim or a picnic by the sea, and perhaps even enjoy a magnificent sunset.
This Estran'ørdinaire adventure has been awarded the Lighthouse Route Ambassador label and is inspired by the legends of the Côte des Légendes. An immersive, funny, poetic and gourmet experience, combining nature, heritage, imagination and wonder.
