Exposition Le Sémaphore de papier

Jacques Beydon and Jean-Marc Jézéquel, visual artists, sculptors and painters, winners of the ‘Sémaphore métamorphosé’ call for proposals, divert the semaphore from its function of transmission to transform it into a realm of dreams and imaginary projections, and to invent a new story.
Within the semaphore, stripped of its role in transmission, alerting and signalling, the semaphore operator discovers an inner realm, where messages are no longer coded, but dreamt. He folds, crumples, piles up, suspends and assembles. The architecture is entirely enveloped by blank newspaper – a fragile, silent material, brimming with untapped imaginative potential, inviting the visitor to a physical and contemplative experience.
