Exposition Maison et atelier Dilasser “Chez eux”
Exhibition
The house at 7 rue des Douves was built in 1960 and subsequently extensively remodelled by architect Claude Petton. Set in a walled garden, it comprises the living quarters and the studio; but are they separable, given that daily life and the work of François and Antoinette are intertwined here? Since the deaths of the painter in 2012 and the writer in 2021, nothing has really changed in terms of the traces and evidence of their activity: the library, the paintings on the wall, those of the painter, those of friends, household objects, the garden and, above all, the ever-changing light here, which inspired the forms that both invented.
The studio houses a large number of works, including those that are the raw material for the exhibition François Dilasser Centenary, a retrospective in Brittany.
