Through school textbooks, children's literature, games and educational objects, the exhibition explores the place of animal figures in teaching and informal education.

Early learning in schools shaped a vision of the animal world that combined science and morality: distinguishing between "good" and "bad" animals according to their usefulness to man, and then, under the influence of Darwin's theories, questioning the place of humans within the living world.
In the classroom, animals are also used as teaching aids, from dissections to anatomical models and student work. Finally, the exhibition highlights the evolution of the way we look at the environment, from naturalistic observation to the first ecological reflections integrated into teaching.
Conceived as a truly immersive experience, this exhibition places great emphasis on participatory mediation: recognising animal tracks and calls, educational games and interactive devices.
