Orchestre Symphonique de l’UBO

The Brest University Orchestra brings together amateur musicians united by a shared passion for symphonic music. Conducted by Jean-Philippe Brun, the ensemble brings together students, teachers, professionals and music enthusiasts in an orchestra that can number up to 90 musicians on stage. Each season, the orchestra presents programmes combining major works from the repertoire, film scores and contemporary discoveries, with the aim of making orchestral music accessible to all audiences.

For its new programme, ‘An Invitation to Dance Around the World’, the Brest University Orchestra offers a musical journey through different cultures and dance traditions. The concert will bring together the Mexican rhythms of Arturo Márquez’s *Danzón No. 2* and *Conga del Fuego Nuevo*, the Celtic sounds of Ronan Hardiman’s *Lord of the Dance*, and the Spanish flavours of the *Danse bohème* from Georges Bizet’s *Carmen*, amongst other festive and popular works from the orchestral repertoire.
