Welcome to Brittany's largest living museum!
There are no showcases or panels here: when the sea retreats, it reveals a hidden world. Beneath the seaweed, between the rocks and at the bottom of the pools, amazing inhabitants appear: starfish, crabs, anemones, sponges, blennies, shrimps and many other fascinating creatures.
Armed with magnifying glasses, dip nets and our detective eyes, we'll set off to meet them and find out how they live, feed and adapt to the sometimes extreme conditions of the foreshore.
Does the starfish have eyes? How does the anemone catch its prey? What do crabs eat? Are sponges animals or plants? Why do some creatures seem to have come from another planet? And above all... who eats whom?
In the course of our investigation, we will learn how to observe without disturbing, how to recognise several emblematic coastal species and how to understand the invisible links that unite all the inhabitants of this fascinating ecosystem.
We'll also discover why certain species blur the boundaries between the animal and plant worlds, while exploring the principles of naturalistic, sustainable fishing that respects living things.
And because the foreshore needs to be discovered with all the senses, we'll also take the time to touch, smell and taste some wild seaweed 'on the rocks'.
It's a fun and educational adventure designed to arouse the curiosity of children... and adults! Become explorers of living things for the duration of a tide!

Equipment included: Magnifying glasses, landing nets, trays, explorer's bags.
