Simon Gauchet : L’Expérience de l’Arbre

A French actor, a Noh theatre performer and… a tree. Around this trio, a playful and poetic performance takes shape, in which art and nature engage in an unexpected dialogue.

On stage, the two actors – one trained in the Western tradition, the other a heir to Noh, the millennia-old Japanese tradition – share fragments of their lives, tell each other stories and reveal their personal mythologies. At the centre, a tree – a silent, almost magical witness – keeps watch. Ghosts, tales and figures then emerge, like so many memories to be shared. Blending humour, poetry and joyful improvisation, the show invites us to listen in a new way: to others, to the world, to nature.
This mischievous, gentle and sophisticated experience celebrates theatre as much as it does life itself.
