SOLIFEST #8 – 1 soirée, 4 groupes ! Et de la Solidarité

➡️ LES SHERIFF
From 1984 to 1999, LES SHERIFF enjoyed a whirlwind career, playing hundreds of gigs across Europe and Canada, releasing nine albums – including two live albums – and leaving an indelible mark on an entire generation of fans with their signature 1,2… 1,2,3,4!
They filled every club and Zénith venue in France, supported the RAMONES, and spearheaded the alternative rock movement alongside bands such as La MANO NEGRA, BERURIER NOIR, Les WAMPAS, PARABELLUM and O.T.H.
Fifteen years after calling it a day with a sense of mission accomplished, the nine musicians who had been part of the band returned to the stage for a legendary concert in front of 7,000 people in June 2012.
Since 2014, they have resumed their fantastic journey, performing the occasional gig here and there with their energy as undiminished and spirited as ever. This revival is also an opportunity to re-release all their albums one by one, having utilised the latest remastering techniques to boost the sound and allow fans to enjoy these exhilarating anthems all over again.

➡️ NOT SCIENTISTS
Formed in 2013, Not Scientists is a band centred around members of UncommonMenFromMars and No Guts No Glory, two stalwarts of the French punk scene who have been touring the globe non-stop for many years. Tense, yet melodic and sophisticated, their punk rock is reminiscent of bands as diverse as the Buzzcocks, The Thermals, Hot Water Music and Superchunk… Their debut EP, mixed at Sound Art Studio in Puerto Rico by Jamie McMann (Dead to Me, NOFX, Swingin’ Utters…) and titled “Leave Stickers On Our Graves”, was released in February 2014 on Delete Your Favourite Records.

➡️ POESIE ZERO
This is some very angry (and daft) punk, accompanied by two volunteer “quasi-musicians” who are on the verge of being sacked at every gig. The band have released ten albums that are more or less blue (all the punk clichés are there), a whole load of music videos that’ve been shown to varying degrees, and to top it all off, the “band” is doing everything it can to ensure that the International Federation of Poésie Zéro spreads across the globe, so that there are Poésie Zéro groups in every city in the world and they can stop playing gigs for good.

➡️ DIDIER SUPER
How to introduce him? (I went to his website to write a bio, but the rascal’s trying to sell me a comic book. ) Didier Super is a great artist, a major star of the international showbiz scene, and a freelance performer who’s surely rich (we wish him well – no doubt thanks to his comic book sales!)
It’s sure to be a great evening, with biting lyrics full of irony!
