Terre Noire
Théâtre
Comprising a prologue and thirty-one very short scenes, performed out of chronological order, with sudden shifts in pace and flashbacks, *Terre Noire* is like a jigsaw puzzle – and it is you, the audience, who will piece it together.
In the Transvaal, South Africa, a car pulls up at the edge of Hagos Nassor’s sugarcane field. A sales representative from Earth Corporation, Dalmar Khamisi, doles out the promise of money – lots of money. Hagos eventually gives in. He dreams of miraculous harvests and a more comfortable life. But the reality turns out to be quite different… Director Gweltaz Chauviré tells us straight away: for the play to go ahead, a draw must be held. We won’t reveal what it is, but if you’re a gambler, this thriller – unique at every performance – is for you.
