Fortified castle, Ruins and remains
The Château de Roc'h Morvan is an exceptional vestige of the Middle Ages, which has lived through the tumultuous history of Brittany and kept its traces. Since 2002, archaeological digs have been revealing a little more about the castle every year, from the stones hidden by centuries of neglect to its life and inhabitants, from the fortified castle to the stone quarry, from the lords to the prisoners. Come and discover a thousand years of history.
In 2022: an eco-pasture was set up to maintain the steep slopes surrounding the remains of the castle.
Please note: access to the upper part of the castle and its keep is currently prohibited due to annual archaeological excavations.
In summer, the Tourist Office offers guided tours of the castle on request from the Maison du Patrimoine.
All year round, the Château et Patrimoine rochois association offers guided tours for individuals and groups.
Would you like to take your family on a self-guided tour of the ruins? You can do so with the "Investigation at La Martyre" booklet, available to download from our website or on sale for €1 at the Tourist Office.
