Haliotika – La Cité de la Pêche
Heritage centre and site
Profession
Haliotika, the fishing centre in Le Guilvinec, is THE place to visit in the Bigouden region. In our discovery centre, climb aboard the Bara Breizh, a reconstructed trawler, and follow the journey of the fish from the sea to the plate. Take a fully immersive tour of the coastal fish auction and watch the fish from our coasts being auctioned off live. It's an unforgettable visit that will give you an insight into the difficult but fascinating job of our fishermen.
All the information and the programme are on our website.
Online bookings are preferable.
Start your visit immersed in our discovery centre by virtually boarding the ‘Bara Breizh’, a deep-sea trawler from Le Guilvinec.
Every area of the ship is recreated: saloon, lazarette, interactive bridge, bunks, showers, cloakroom, fish hold, engine room, etc.
Continue your visit by following the fish step by step as it makes its way from the sea to the plate.
Then take an immersive tour of the coastal fish auction from 4pm:
Witness the auction of fritillating langoustines and fish just unloaded from the boats. Our guides will explain how the auction works and tell you a few anecdotes about the fish and shellfish.
Monday to Friday. Public holidays excluded.
