Botanical garden, Jardin remarquable (remarkable garden)
This garden located along Odet near the priory and classified 'Remarkable Garden' is planted with aromatic and medieval plants as it used to be in the monasteries at the time of Anne de Bretagne. Chestnut, oak, slate, granite, and steel, are the main materials.
Fruits and crops grown in raised squares complete the garden. In the garden , a kiosk houses a fountain, as the symbol of the source of life that was once supposed to irrigate paradise. Pergolas symbolise the sky and each plant carries a message that was well known in the Middle Ages, like the rose that represents the youth or the lily, white purity. Benches allow to rest and admire the wildlife.
