Maison de la baie d’Audierne

Heritage centre and site

Natural sciences, Environment and nature
An information and environmental management centre, the Maison de la Baie d’Audierne offers the opportunity to discover the natural heritage (wildlife, flora, landscape) of the Baie d’Audierne area. The centre stages temporary and permanent exhibitions, and organises nature walks, rambles with donkeys to carry your kit, videos. You will learn about the natural wealth of the area and how this unique environment is managed.

Audierne Bay, the largest area of dunes in Finistère, is a fragile, protected natural environment waiting to be discovered. Shaped by the wind and the sea, it is home to exceptional flora and fauna and stunning landscapes. The Maison de la Baie d'Audierne is a visitor centre all about this unique environment. There are permanent and temporary exhibitions (2014 includes a water-themed exhibition), videos and a reading room. There are also guided nature walks, either on foot or accompanied by donkeys. Don't miss this must-see spot, tucked away in the Pays Bigouden, dedicated to nature.
