At the foot of the Monts d’Arrée, the Musée du Loup – the only museum of its kind in France – invites you to discover this fascinating animal, so very different from the big bad wolf of fairy tales and legends.
The museum features a brand-new visitor experience, new atmospheres and a fresh approach. It helps to foster a better understanding of the wolf and its history.
In 1½ hours, you can learn about the life of the wolf and also the extraordinary array of traditions centred on this fascinating animal. Its way of life, its biology, species conservation, as well as the wolf as portrayed in fairy tales, children’s literature and the imagination. The museum paints a comprehensive picture of this mammal.
Following a highly original exhibition route, you’ll come face to face with stuffed wolves and learn through a variety of educational displays. You’ll also be able to explore a reconstruction of a den and, thanks to various interactive features, transform yourself into a werewolf or even have your photo taken with a virtual wolf.
An unforgettable visit for young and old alike – humour and creativity are guaranteed!
The museum remains open to groups by booking all year round.
July/August: open daily from 2 pm to 6 pm
Open on Sundays from mid-April to early November from 2 pm to 6 pm.
During school holidays (Zone B), from 2 pm to 6 pm only on scheduled activity days.
