Boucle n°2 Cap Caval
From the interior, head to the iconic surf spot of Pointe de la Torche. This tour for young and old will make you see the country! From the fields to the beaches, passing through several megalithic sites (menhirs, dolmens), you will discover both the bigouden hinterland and unique views of the bay of Audierne. On the way you have the opportunity to make a hook by the alignments of menhirs of the Madeleine in Penmarc'h (variant n°1). You will also find a chapel and a beautiful shaded area for picnics. At the end of the route, the route passes through the historic site of Lestiala: in the Middle Ages, a castle stood on the site of the current farmhouse. Today, a completely restored Calvary borders the road. This walk full of history will make you travel back in time. Departure/Arrival: Parking of Menez Stang at Plomeur Marking: Unmarked route Elevation difference: 82D+ Recommended bikes: VTC, MTB, VAE, ATV Direction of route: Counterclockwise Practical information: -Public toilets available on the course -A picnic area is present on the circuit Variants: -Variant n°1: On Pont Devet to the south of the circuit, it is possible to extend the circuit by approximately 1.4 km via the Madeleine site (chapel and alignments, points of interest n° 9 and 10). -Variant n°2: From the D/A n°2 (La Torche) you have the possibility to make a 10 km loop by cutting at the chapel of Beuzec (point of interest n°2). ♥ Did you know? - From «toal» = table and «men» = stone, a dolmen means in Breton «table de pierre». - «Cap Caval» is the old name of the Bigouden Country. ☑ Tips before you go: -Equip yourself well before the start: check the condition of your bike (brakes, lights, tires) and equip yourself with the repair kit. Wear a helmet: it is mandatory for the -12 years and strongly advised after. The yellow vest is mandatory in low visibility. -Share the road and ensure compliance with regulations: pedestrian spaces, sidewalks. -Bring something to eat (drink, snack). 👍 Rules and best practices: -Be careful not to leave any objects or garbage: in the absence of trash cans, take your waste with you. -Respect in all places the fauna and flora whose balance is fragile. -Respect the private property. 💡 In order to view the variants and the layout in detail, we advise you to refer to the pdf downloadable below.
