This tour combines nature and history, allowing you to discover both architecture and nature, through the Bigouden countryside. This pleasant loop, best enjoyed in dry weather, will take you along country lanes starting from the market town of Tréogat. Don't miss the ruins of the Chapelle de Languidou, a magical place featuring one of the most representative examples of Pont-Croix's architectural style. You will then come to the Kergalan pond, home to many species of birds, some of them very rare. Start/Finish point: Parking de la grande rue Difference in altitude: 139.38m Direction of route: anticlockwise Signs: Yellow PR. Field markings always take precedence over paper or digital documents. Practical information : Public garden with picnic table at the start of the walk, toilet in rue de l'église. Advice before setting off: Take something to eat (drinks, snacks). Remember to take a bag for your rubbish. Notice to walkers: In order to respect the integrity of the natural environment you are crossing, it is essential to attach rubber tips to the ends of your poles. Repeated use of unprotected walking sticks by walkers can, in the medium term, have irreversible consequences, such as stripping the soil and vegetation, gullying and widening the path's right-of-way. Dogs are welcome on this trail. 1 Etang de Kergalan
Cet étang très profond a peut-être été un port au XVIe siècle avec une côte alors découpée d’abers. En 1891, Jean-Baptiste Cassard achète l’étang et y entreprend de grands travaux d’assèchement. On voit encore sur la plage trace de l’aqueduc. Il y établit une exploitation agricole, produisant des légumes et élevant des vaches normandes, au pays des Pies noires, pour produire du fromage. Mais les tempêtes auront raison de l’ouvrage.
2 Eglise Saint-Boscat
Eglise du XIVè - XVè siècle construite dans le style architectural de l'école de Pont-Croix. L'édifice est inscrit depuis 2008 à l'inventaire supplémentaire des Monuments Historiques. L'ensemble paroissial est l'un des rares en Pays Bigouden à être complet : l'église, l'enclos, le cimetière, le calvaire, la fontaine.
3 Chapelle de Languidou
La chapelle aurait été construite au XIIIè siècle puis restaurée fin XIVè / début du XVè siècle. Détruite pendant la révolution, ses pierres ont été utilisées pour la construction d'un corps de garde. Aujourd'hui en ruines, elle n'en conserve pas moins son charme et surtout cette splendide rose au chevet, comme une dentelle de pierre, qui date du début du XVè siècle. La chapelle est l'une des meilleures représentantes du style architectural de Pont-Croix.
