In his masterpiece, Le Cheval d'Orgueil, Pierre Jakez Hélias describes his childhood in Pouldreuzic between the wars and, through it, the last fires of rural society in the Pays Bigouden. Along this path through the town and countryside of Pouldreuzic, 17 pieces of furniture reproduce extracts from Le Cheval d'Orgueil. They evoke with sensitivity, humour and sometimes nostalgia themes as varied as his childhood home, the 14-18 war, the ban on speaking Breton, rides on his grandfather's shoulders, work in the fields, the superstitious beliefs of the people, the bocage and the arrival of the first cars.
