Voie verte Pont-l'Abbé - Quimper

In the footsteps of the Birinik train

This greenway has been developed as a walking trail along a former railway line. It stretches for 19 km between Quimper and Pont-l’Abbé. It features a stabilised surface suitable for running, walking, hybrid cycling and mountain biking. The shaded route, which is particularly welcome on hot days, will take you to Pont-l’Abbé and its riverside harbour. The last train passed through here on 20 June 1963!

Signposting: Signposting on the ground always takes precedence over maps. If there are no markings, follow the path as it continues.

-To protect the natural environment you are passing through, it is essential to fit rubber caps to the tips of your walking poles.
-As a walker, you are liable in the event of an accident resulting from your own carelessness or inattention.
-Be considerate and courteous towards other users and local residents.
Tips before you set off:
Make sure you’re well-prepared before setting off: take a drink, a snack and a bag to carry your rubbish.
Walking with your dog:
Dogs are welcome on this route.
Please note that there are many runners and cyclists using the greenway, so your dog must be kept on a lead at all times.

- Make sure you do not leave any items or litter behind: as there are no bins, please take your rubbish with you.
- Respect the flora and fauna at all times, as their balance is fragile.
- Respect private property.
Tips before you set off:
- Make sure you’re properly equipped before setting off: check the condition of your bike (brakes, lights, tyres) and carry a repair kit. Wear a helmet: this is compulsory for under-12s and strongly recommended for older riders. A high-visibility vest is compulsory outside built-up areas in conditions of poor visibility.
-Share the road and ensure you comply with the regulations: pedestrian areas, pavements.
-Bring something to eat and drink (drinks, snacks).
