Distance 7,5 km

The Montagne trail starts at the church car park in Lothey. This church was built between 1895 and 1901 and boasts a magnificent Pièta in its cloister. The walk stretches over 7.5 km, between sunken lanes and the peaceful banks of the River Aulne. To start, head towards Châteaulin, then turn left at the calvary. Before you reach the D41, turn right towards the water tower. Follow the sunken lanes towards Penn ar Vern. Then turn left onto the Saint-Coulitz road and go through Pennod. Follow the signs as you descend the slope (which can be steep!). Pass under the viaduct and walk alongside the River Aulne. The path takes you along the counter-harbour to the Aulne lock at Pennarpont. Then head back up through Kervével to return to the centre of Lothey.
