Maison de site de la Pointe du Raz
Heritage centre and site
Environment and nature
Located at the western tip of Brittany, the Pointe du Raz is an emblematic natural site offering a unique blend of spectacular scenery, culture and unspoilt nature.
The Maison de site will be open from 30 March to 1 November 2026, from Monday to Sunday, to welcome and advise visitors. It offers exhibitions and a cultural programme dedicated to the site's maritime heritage and history. Guided tours will reveal the secrets of the Pointe du Raz and the Pointe du Van. You can also discover the site on foot! See all the dates in the diary.
From 6 May to 1 November: the exhibition "Phares d'Iroise: l'intime et le monumental" (Iroise lighthouses: intimate and monumental).
Photographs by Jean Guichard & crossed views
This exhibition immerses visitors in the world of lighthouses in the Iroise Sea through the eyes of photographer Jean Guichard, the famous "storm chaser". His emblematic shot of the Jument lighthouse in the middle of a storm, which has become an iconic image around the world, sits alongside spectacular photographs capturing the power of the elements.
Beyond these impressive images, the exhibition also reveals a more intimate dimension: the daily life of the last lighthouse keepers in the 1990s, on the eve of automation. Find out more about Jean Guichard's photographic work on his website www.jean-guichard.com
Echoing this, a selection of photographs by Paul Gruyer, a pioneer of photography in Brittany at the end of the 19th century, offers a rare historical perspective. From 1898 onwards, he documented lighthouses and their keepers during his travels, helping to shape the imagination and myth of the lighthouse keeper.
The exhibition is extended by an immersive sound experience: designer Lucie Hardoin offers binaural headphone listening, featuring sensitive testimonies from the families of former lighthouse keepers, including the Malgorn sisters and Jean-Yves Le Brun. Animated films and short films on the theme of lighthouses will also be screened in the auditorium.
With its mix of memories, powerful landscapes and glimpses through time, this exhibition highlights both the monumental scale of lighthouses and the humanity of the people who have lived in them.

The only site in Brittany classed as a 'Grand Site de France'!
In 2004, the Pointe du Raz, along with the Baie des Trépassés and the Pointe du Van, were among the first natural sites to be classed as a 'Grand Site de France'.
Along with the iconic Pointe du Raz, the main cliffs of the Cap Sizun now form the Grand Site de France. This is a collection of remarkable landscapes that is the only one of its kind in Brittany, covering nearly 500 acres, owned by the Coastal Heritage and county council, managed by the local council of Cap Sizun-Pointe du Raz. The authenticity of the area known as the Cap Sizun makes it an ideal destination for all kinds of walking including the GR34 coastal path for guided visits. Discover the treasures of Kourrik the Elf: a family activity. At the Pointe du Raz, the visitor centre presents the exceptional heritage of the Cap Sizun, and a film is available to watch in the auditorium.
