The castle, a miraculously spared medevial fortress, is the oldest monument in Brest. Through tower and curtain walls, the visit offers magnificent views of the bay, the ports, the city and the Penfeld River. Not to be missed: shipbuilding, the Lapérouse expedition, the masterpieces of ship carvings, the convict prison, the emblematic post-war ships, submarines. The castle, wick has been redesigned many times over the years, bears witness to a destiny guided by the sea, the history of a city, a region and an entire country.
