L’Ingénu de Voltaire
Storytelling
Musical reading of Voltaire's satirical tale "L'Ingénu".
In this text, Voltaire tackles with irony the themes that are dear to him: corruption, the abuse of power, the injustices of French society... It is remarkable to see how this text, written in 1767 under the Ancien Régime, remains as relevant today as it was then. This musical reading will be performed in period costume by Laurence Dri (reading) and Jérôme Chaboseau (reading and musical interpretation on the viola da gamba of baroque pieces by Marin Marais, Jean-Philippe Rameau, Telemann, etc.).
Jérôme Chaboseau performs the musical part of the audio book "Tous les matins du monde" by Pascal Quignard, published by Gallimard. In addition to his concerts and albums, he has taken part in a number of films and broadcasts relating to baroque music. Laurence Dri has produced several adaptations of literary works, including "Les liaisons dangereuses" by Choderlos de Laclos, read and accompanied on the viola da gamba in numerous cultural venues.
