Menez-Hom - boucle sommitale (balisage bleu)

Towering majestically over Brest harbour and Douarnenez Bay, the Menez-Hom – Finistère’s iconic peak, rising to an altitude of 330 metres – offers an exceptional panoramic view of one of Brittany’s most remarkable landscapes.

This circular route around the summit, accessible from the main car park, invites you to immerse yourself in an exceptional natural site classified as one of the department’s sensitive natural areas. Over a route of around 3 kilometres, which takes about an hour to walk, the trail winds its way through open moorland, ridge paths and unspoilt areas where natural heritage, geology and sweeping views of the ocean and the Breton countryside blend together.

Along the route, visitors can enjoy a succession of spectacular vantage points offering sweeping views of the Crozon Peninsula, the Monts d’Arrée, Douarnenez Bay and, on a clear day, much of western Finistère. A true natural viewpoint, the site is also an ideal spot for observing the flora and fauna characteristic of the Atlantic moors.

Designed as a walking route accessible to as many people as possible, this circuit encourages a gentle exploration of the site whilst raising awareness of the need to preserve this fragile environment. With its maritime horizon, Breton hills and exceptional natural heritage, the Menez-Hom loop offers an authentic experience at the heart of one of Finistère’s most stunning landscapes.
