For this exhibition, Loïc Gourmelen is presenting a selection of 40 oil paintings on linen canvas inspired by the seascapes of Brittany. A painter for over 25 years, he draws his inspiration from the light, the skies and the movements of the ocean. “I paint what I see and what I feel”: this approach guides a body of work that falls within the figurative tradition and tends towards a poetic realism in which emotion plays a central role.
