Les Naufrages d’Ulysse
Jazz and blues, Show, Théâtre
Described as a burlesque black-and-white peplum, this production by the multi-award-winning Brest-based theatre company L’Entonnoir Théâtre combines acting, dance, shadow theatre and object theatre. Twenty years on, Odysseus returns from the Trojan War. Upon arriving in Ithaca, he is stunned to discover that Polos, a companion, has assumed his identity. Worse still, Polos has taken advantage of his absence to invent a highly lucrative legend for himself: the Odyssey. Odysseus thus finds himself faced with a dilemma: to let a flamboyant legend live on, or to reveal a far less glorious truth… What if Odysseus were an impostor?
Structured as a series of flashbacks, this epic constantly navigates between myth and reality, immersing us in the adventures of a disoriented hero who has become a prisoner of his own reputation.
