Clytemnestre

Clytemnestra is one of those female figures crushed by history. A lustful and demonic creature, this fallen queen defies the established order. What if, for once, we were to take the side of ‘the villain’ and listen to her?

An exuberant drag queen welcomes the audience for a mythological recap: Agamemnon, Iphigenia, Electra, Orestes, Aegisthus – all names that make up Clytemnestra’s world. A monster with over-the-top make-up and costumes, she comes to tell us her life story. ‘ A one-woman show’, a concert, a tale and a confession – Clytemnestra is all of these, and more: a disconcerting mirror of our times, an exploration of the violence of power in the face of attempts at emancipation and rebellion. A hard-hitting performance delivered by an actress who is literally possessed by her role.
