Built in 1910 on the harbourside at Sainte-Marine, this Abri du Marin, a listed historic building, was restored in 2007. It was opened as a museum in 2008 to present the work of its founder, the philanthropist Jacques de Thézac. It holds temporary exhibitions with a nautical theme as well as a permanent display devoted to the work of the Abris du Marin (Fishermen’s Rest) and the lives of fishermen.

Firmly anchored on the harbourside in Sainte-Marine, the Abri du Marin is a museum describing the lives of seamen at the beginning of the last century. It also recounts the work of Jacques de Thézac, who devoted his life to the welfare of fishermen. Temporary exhibitions on a maritime theme provide a link between past and present, showing the daily life of people who lived in the ports of Brittany through photos and numerous everyday objects.
