Phare de Men Ar Groas

Built in 1905 on the islet of Men Ar Groas, the lighthouse has since been connected to the land. Fishermen waited some fifty years before seeing it rise into the sky, due to lengthy administrative procedures. How did they manage without a lighthouse at the beginning of the last century? At the beginning of the last century, a village shopkeeper would place a paraffin lamp on the windowsill every evening to guide our sailors. The only problem was to prevent the lamp from going out...
