The Mon Tro Breizh®

A thousand-year-old trail

On the Tro Breizh®, everything is historic. Walking this trail plunges you into the authentic cultural experience that has evolved throughout the centuries. More than 380 km of extraordinary trails and paths await you in Finistère, between Quimper and Locquirec, shifting from coastlines to countryside, and from the most grandiose landscapes and architectural heritage to the smaller, lesser-known spots tucked away in the heart of Finistère.

Along the sunken paths

Your walking pilgrimage along the Mon Tro Breizh® in Finistère begins at the iconic Saint-Corentin Cathedral in Quimper. Passing through the countryside, you’ll reach Locronan then head towards Douarnenez. Following the bay, you’ll climb to the Menez-Hom, which rises to 330 metres and overlooks the Aulne Valley. Next, the trail takes you to Landévennec, and after Le Faou and the state-owned forest of Le Cranou, you’ll head to the mythical and unforgettable landscapes of the Arrée Mountains. Take a break at the top of Montagne Saint-Michel. Follow the sunken paths into the area famous for its enclos paroissiaux, churches with wonderfully flamboyant architecture. Further north, your path leads you to the elegant Château de Kerjean and you’re nearly at the end of the trail – you just need to follow the sandy shores to reach Roscoff. In the distance, you’ll see the recognisable spires of Saint-Pol-de-Léon, and keep following the bay until you reach Morlaix. Leave the area known as Pays du Léon and pass into Trégor, where the pretty seaside resort of Locquirec is your final stopping point.

In your own way

This trail was inspired by the age-old pilgrimage walks through Brittany, a huge loop that originally connected Quimper, Saint-Pol-de-Léon, Tréguier, Saint-Brieuc, Dol de Bretagne, Saint-Malo, Rennes, Nantes and Vannes. You can follow the paths of Mon Tro Breizh® in Finistère however you prefer, following the main path (le hent) or detouring a few kilometres here and there to explore a nearby site (by following la ribin). You can personalise it however you wish – the choice is yours! To help you along your way, your virtual guides Hieck, Klervie or even Ollig are on hand to advise you.
